2012 Stroup’s Lucky Stars Invitational
March 23, 24, & 25, 2012

 

 

Welcome to the 11th Annual Stroup’s Lucky Stars Invitational! 
Last year we had 26 gyms from 3 states with 720+ participants.

The competition will be warm-up/compete, New York State style, with two sets of equipment (tumbling strip).  Final competition numbers and competition order will be available the day of the meet.

Please make sure your gymnasts are on time!  Doors open at 7:30 AM for the morning sessions.

PLEASE NOTE: No Coolers or outside food will be permitted in the gym.

 

Your child’s age group is determined by the gymnast’s age prior to NYS championship date. 

As usual, our awards exceed the required amount.  Our goal is to give awards to 100% of the athletes.  There will be trophies for all-around, and medallions and ribbons for events.  Wall banners will be provided, distinguishing team placing.

 

Awards will occur at the end of each session.

 

An athletic trainer will be available on site.

 

Scores will not be flashed.  Scores will be delivered to the coaches, and will be posted for parents near the concession stand and stairwell.

 

Please remember: No flash pictures during the meet and remain outside the competition area at all times. You may still take photographs, but review your camera’s owner’s manual prior to the meet to learn how to turn the flash off.

 

There is plenty of free parking around the Jamestown Community College Athletic building where the competition is being held.  However, Friday morning classes will still be in session and parking may be at a premium.  If you have difficulty finding a near by space, drop your gymnast off at the door and park at one of the farther areas.

 

Please note that admission prices are for one person for the entire day.  The wristbands are waterproof and can be worn swimming or in the shower.  If it has not been removed, you will be re-admitted (same day).  Without these wristbands you will be charged admission each time you enter. Wristbands are non-transferrable.
Weekend passes are also available; rates are as follows:


Daily Fees:
  • $25 – family of four (Two adults and two children)
  • $9 – adult
  • $5 – students (K-12 and college students with valid ID)
  • $5 – seniors (55 and older with ID)
  • 4 & Under - FREE
Weekend Passes:
  • $45 – family of four (Two adults and two children)
  • $15 – adult
  • $8 – students (K-12 and college students with valid ID)
  • $8 – seniors (55 and older with ID)
  • 4 & Under - FREE

 

Seating is primarily on bleachers.  You may wish to bring a cushion.  Some handicapped seating is available.

 

We will have a concession stand open throughout the meet.  Spectators are encouraged to take advantage of the concession stand while they watch the gymnasts.  No coolers or outside food will be permitted in the gym.

 

Stroup’s Lucky Stars T-shirts will be available at the meet with all the gymnasts’ names on the back.  There will also be a retail stand with many gymnastic items and leotards.

We will also be holding one 50-50 raffle per session.  Look for the Leprechaun and help support the gymnasts.

 

Prior to the meet, all questions should be directed to your coach.  Please do not call Stroup’s Gymnastics!  If you have questions during the meet or need assistance, please ask any of the meet personnel.  Thank you for helping to make this an efficient weekend for everyone!

This year’s meet will again be held at the Physical Education complex of Jamestown Community College.  The address to type into your GPS navigation unit is:  525 Falconer Street, Jamestown, NY  14701. Otherwise, directions to the meet are enclosed. We hope you have an enjoyable and safe meet.

There are several attractions in and around Jamestown.  The Lucy Museum is downtown. The Seneca Allegany Casino is east of Jamestown on I-86. Numerous restaurants can be found in and around Jamestown.  Snow skiing is nearby at three locations.  Make it a fun weekend for the whole family!
